Getting in the Holiday Spirit
This past Sunday evening, 15 members from our Troop joined the greater Millburn/Short Hills community is a fantastic celebration titled the Snowflake Stroll. Eagle Scout Jamie S served honorably as the township coordinator for this event and did an unbelievable job. Congrats Jamie!
Will D and Dominic V served as the Honor Guard while Michael O was requested to wear a dreidel costume and celebrate on stage with the performers. The balance of the Troop was tasked with handling balloons that served as the backdrop for the entertainment.  What a fun time and memorable event!
Please also thank SPL Ryan C, Owen K and Mr. Cannon for stepping up on their busy holiday weekend to assist with the event setup on Saturday. Great job by all that were involved!

Spirit of Camp Turrell Award
On Saturday October 27th, our late Scoutmaster Ken Fineran was honored by the Friends of Turrell at a strongly attended banquet.  The evening kicked off with Max L, Tanish T, Michael W and Jamie S serving in the Honor Guard, immediately followed by Nick S playing his rendition of our National Anthem to a huge round of applause and cheers.
SPL Ryan C delivered an emotional personal account of the impact Mr. Fineran had on him and Scouting, followed by JASM Jamie S who shared his perspective of the Troop's conquest in securing Fineran Way and an update of the Troop's current project of replacing the existing Camp Turrell entrance signage in memory of Mr. Fineran. Immediately following their presentations, Mr. Larry Burke, a close friend of Mr. Fineran for many years and officer of the Friend of Turrell non-for-profit organization, emotionally presented Mrs. Fineran the Friends of Turrell Award.

Mr. Charles Fineran was re-united with his Scout Sash by Ryan and Jamie, as it was located amongst the Scouting memorabilia collection of Scoutmaster Fineran.

If you are interested in donating to the new signage and related dedication costs in memory of Ken Fineran at Camp Turrell, please feel free to make donation here.  A formal dedication ceremony at Camp Turrell is being planned for this spring.
